The San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance - Tunnel Book
The San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance holds a special place in my heart. My grandparents, who have since passed on, were proud members of this incredible organization. Today, my family and I continue to honor their legacy by being members. Now more than ever, animals need our help. This book is dedicated to a select few of the animals my family and I love to see. Every time we visit the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, we are greeted by our friend, Sampson the Blue Macaw. We are filled with pure joy when he dances and squawks at us, bobbing his head. At the gorilla exhibit, Frank, a Silverback Gorilla, always loves to pose for the camera. In the Tiger Trail exhibit, vibrant Sumatran Tigers are either on the prowl or napping in the shadows. It’s always a surprise! The San Diego Zoo features wonderful bird aviaries that allow guests to get an up-close view of hundreds of exotic birds from all over the world. The Toco Toucan is a crown jewel of the rainforest with its vibrant beak. In this rainforest climate, one may encounter a Red-Eyed Tree Frog peeking through the foliage and find Redfoot Tortoises sunbathing. It is essential to do our part for wildlife conservation by lowering our carbon footprint, actively reusing and recycling, planting native plants, donating to non-profit organizations dedicated to helping wildlife, and supporting your local zoo.
It’s up to us to save wildlife! |

Do Good For Wildlife Book
This dual volume collection features interpretations of “Do Good” by my GD-100-02 Intro to Lettering & Book Arts Class. Inspired by the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance, the cover of Volume 1 captures the essence of the buzzing new bee exhibit at the San Diego Zoo. The page I designed continues this theme with a Winnie the Pooh design. Volume 2 aids in educating people about the critical need for wildlife conservation.

Winnie the Pooh Inspired Book
This "Do Good" cover and interior page are part of a group project with my Intro to Lettering & Book arts class. I was tasked with designing one 4 x 4-inch page, interpreting the theme in any way I wanted. After visiting the bee exhibit at the San Diego Zoo's Wildlife Explorers Basecamp, I was inspired to do a honey bee and Winnie the Pooh theme.

10 Books
When I visit a prominent travel destination, I love to collect their maps. I am fascinated by how parks such as Disneyland, Disney California Adventure, the San Diego Zoo, the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, and Legoland California design and craft their maps for their parks. In addition, I enjoy looking at maps from different periods as they illustrate how people thought about travel. In this book set, I designed ten books utilizing maps that I have collected in addition to map scrapbook paper. These maps have taken on a new life, becoming the covers for books waiting for their stories to be written.
